Valentin Șerban’s artistic profile brings together solo appearances, chamber music projects and orchestral leadership. Following his success at the George Enescu International Competition, he has developed a career that includes collaborations with major orchestras, appearances in international venues and a consistent presence in Romanian musical life.
His repertoire ranges from major violin concertos to chamber and virtuoso works, while his activity also includes recordings, masterclasses and collaborations with established artists from Romania and abroad. Between April 2023 and December 2024, he served as Concertmaster of the George Enescu Philharmonic in Bucharest.
He began his violin studies in Brașov, Romania, and later continued his master’s studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Since autumn 2024, he has been teaching violin as a PhD student at the “Gheorghe Dima” National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca.

ORCHESTRAL COLLABORATIONS
As a soloist, he has performed with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Romanian Radio National Orchestra and Radio Chamber Orchestra, as well as with philharmonic orchestras throughout Romania, including Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Brașov, Sibiu, Ploiești, Bacău, Târgu Mureș, Satu Mare and Arad.
For the 2026–2027 season, Valentin Șerban is Artist in Residence at the George Enescu Philharmonic.
IMPORTANT POSITIONS
He served as Concertmaster of the George Enescu Philharmonic in Bucharest from April 2023 to December 2024. He was also a violinist and Concertmaster of the Romanian Youth Orchestra, and a member of Les Dissonances in Paris for five years.
CHAMBER MUSIC
His chamber music activity includes collaborations with artists such as Midori, Alina Pogostkina, Andrei Ioniță, Erik Schumann, Alissa Margulis, Alexander Buzlov, Claudio Bohórquez, Julia Hamos, Viviane Hagner, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Philippe Graffin, Nicolas Dautricourt, and Liviu Prunaru. He is also a member of Trio Alpha.
INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY
He has performed in Romania, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Japan, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with appearances at venues such as Philharmonie de Paris, Konzerthaus Berlin, Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp, Opéra de Dijon, Le Volcan in Le Havre, and the Romanian Athenaeum.
